No photos, no adds, just wallpaper

My echo show used to display my photos (along with some ads and suggestions) nonstop. At some point this changed and all I see is a generic background. I can turn on photos from the pulldown menu or by telling Alexa to display my photos, but after a few hours it goes back to the background you see in the picture above.

Anyone have any idea how to get back to the way it was?
