New AirPods Pro 2 have funny smell

I just got the AirPods Pro 2 and out of the box when you open the case there is a funny smell. Quick lookup showed some concern it could be the battery. I took them to the Apple Store and they said it passed the charging test. They did find the smell odd as well but said it should be good.

Went back to Best Buy where I got them and they thought it was rather odd also. Suggested that I exchange them just in case.

New set has same odd smell. Not like a new product smell. Anyone else have the same issue? Or anyone else know what it could be or if it’s cause for concern? That the new set is the same I’d guess it is normal but thought I’d ask here and maybe get some more assurance that it isn’t a problem.
