Tamlin’s character development
(TW domestic abuse) Hi everyone this is my first time reading through the series and posting on this subreddit. It’s incredibly lovey to have a safe space to come and find other fans. I really appreciate you guys! and I am completely obsessed with these books. I love them. I’m on chapter 47 of WaR and I’ve got to say dude. The author got Tamlin’s energy spot on for domestic/violence/abuse. As someone who’s experienced it. It’s validating and equally as emotionally provoking to be depicted in literature. How Feryre was infatuated with him and their relationship and sacrificed herself for Tamlin only for him to completely blame her for everything that happened during/after under the mountain and make himself the victim - so blind to logic and understanding, the selfishness of it all. And how trauma affects people differently. Seeing her come to terms with how she fell for a relationship like the one she had with Tamlin. Just wanted to say that representation matters! It’s wonderful to have part of real life depicted in fantasy. Feels like a really safe way to explore my past. And just to thank you guys.
Happy holidays! PS no spoilers please :)
