What effects do people put on their masters when they are recording/performing live sets?

Just recorded my first live set with two friends on Ableton and it got me wondering do people put master chains on their mix as they record or is that something they leave till post production? We were using a model cycles and two abletons linked up, the model cycles was going into an audio interface connected to Ableton A and the output of that interface was going into the interface of Ableton B which results in a slight bit of clipping which sounded like a chosen aesthetic and didn’t affect dynamics too much. Currently mastering it in ableton using a lot of volume automation on limiter to get a consistent LUFS but feel it’s not preserving the true dynamics of the live set so wondered if people had any suggestions on what else they might add on a master for a live set or what we could put on master chain for next time we record a set.
