Recommendation: Pokémon Academy Life Forever
I rarely have free time these days. That said, when I do, video games do exist that are worth the trouble. Years ago, a group of fans collaborated in creating a visual- novel esque game dubbed, 'Pokémon Academy Life Forever.' The work is an ongoing effort of several talented individuals and more than a few playthroughs on YouTube shows the gameplay. For those in the unknown, the game is eminently shonen. There isn't a female playthrough and all of the characters are "rizzed" up. The characters in question take specific cameos from both the anime and the magna, whereas often not mentioning a linked continuity. In addition, the game seems to translate this shonen feel from the beginning, so, writing continues to be seamlessly familiar, without having taken a different tone. One could view this as both a positive or negative trait. Regardless, all characters are aged up appropriately, with the ability to form many friendships or even enemies. Roleplaying is up to the player, but from the very beginning, all newcomers will start out as the colloquial Red/ Satoshi from Pallet Town with a Pikachu. That leads into the next segment: This game has all named individuals and places utilized with the dub. It doesn't use any of the original Japanese naming conventions. Another important detail worth mentioning is that characters may or may not be in- line with their counterparts in the anime. Some might seem as though they overdue a trope, while others are radically of a differing persona. On a final note, the fan- made game is downloadable by multiple sources, but if any of you become interested in seeking out the little references to the anime, I strongly recommend trying this game from links on the creators' Twitter page: Pokémon Visual (@pokemonvisual) / X Please support and always credit all members of their hardworking team.
