What kind of fucking game mechanic is this?

Played some Invoked Eldlich and I was playing against Lab, I had eldlich and Inperm and the 2 trap monsters who banish and destroy 1 card each, they had "There can be only one" face up but in he same collum as my imperm so I negated it's effects and activated the Trap monster that destroys 1 to destroy TCBOO but on resolution my Trap monster went back to the S/T zone, FACE UP! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. IS THAT A BUG? I have no idea how to post the replay so my ID is 539-153-513, it's made public
