Does anyone have a defining moment when they realized the 90’s was dying?

As a young lover of music, I remember when music shifted to raprock and Nu metal. Although this music was targeted to young suburban white kids, which I was one of, it did not draw my interest one bit. It was far too teenage boy angsty to be taken seriously. Although every decade had winners and stinkers, this shift was extremely significant imo. Maybe I’m just an old cloud yelling geezer, but I feel pop music never recovered from this. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to change my Depends and watch an episode of Unsolved Mysteries to fall asleep to.
