Halfway through ‘Butcher’s Crossing’ by John Williams

So far it’s magnificently sparse writing, brutal (for buffaloes) and quite existential. A young Harvard graduate rides to Colorado on a buffalo hunt and is getting more at one with nature than he possibly bargained for… Any western fans like this one? I haven’t seen the Nicholas Cage adaptation yet.
