Insights and Questions about Working at Wawa: Seeking Advice

Hey everyone, I've been part of the Wawa team for around 2 months now, and I've encountered a mix of experiences during my shifts that got me thinking. Starting each shift without any particular expectations has become my norm – sometimes it's smooth sailing, codes are good, food is well-stocked, and all expired items are out of the system. Other times, it's the complete opposite: empty or disorganized stock, leaving me a bit puzzled.

I've noticed a range in managerial styles – some are excellent, while others make me think that even with my short tenure, I might have a thing or two to offer. Working overnight amplifies these observations. Interestingly, we have more staff during the week than on the weekends, which seems to buck the trend on staff distribution. I find the decision-making behind scheduling somewhat perplexing, although I've come to accept it as the norm, given my lack of initial expectations for consistency.

Considering this backdrop, I have a couple of questions for those familiar with Wawa:

  1. Is this range of experiences and managerial differences typical for Wawa, or might it be more specific to my location?
  2. If this isn't the norm for Wawa or if I seek a change, would applying for a position at another Wawa entail starting afresh as if I'm not already part of the company? Or is there a way to request a transfer, given my current employment within the organization?

Any insights or advice from those who have been through similar situations or know the ropes at Wawa would be much appreciated. Thankse!
