How does the Imperium treat alien races that are not sentient? Animals and plants etc.

Like how do they treat wildlife? If the Imperium has active alien wildlife on a planet, do they care to exterminate them or would the animals be allowed to live? Not like Catachan where ladybugs will eat your brain or some shit. Maybe even used as pets by Inquisitors or very important people like planet governors or elites.
