What is this hanging loosely?

Hi,

my friend just bought a used LX50 ET2 and came over to me to check it out and compare it to my one.

It looks great from the outside and runs fine, but when taking out the helmet bucket I noticed this part hanging loosely that I just couldn’t find in my motor.

Can anyone tell us what it is?
