Anyone remember Arthur Scargill from the early 1980's?
I don't mean this to be political because I remember Scargill was a bogeyman for both Conservatives and Labour. Also, I'm not saying he was right about everything.
But I do distinctly remember watching a TV interview with him during the miners strike where he warned that moving to a service based economy would one day end up with massive negative consequences. I was only a kid back then and had no clue how the economy worked. But I lived in Surrey and nearly everyone worked in the financial economy so I remember my parents saying he was crazy. Even the TV presenters thought he was crazy.
Today it feels like the chickens are coming home to roost.
