'Sunshine Moments' in your favorite games?
Basically, a Sunshine Moment, according to YouTuber and fellow shitlord Bumbles McFumbles, is a section of a fantastic game, could even be your favorite game of all time, that you just cannot stand going back to. Without fail, there will be a moment like this. Blighttown in Dark Souls, the wannabe Afterburner sections in Bayonetta, Guts Man's stage in Mega Man 1, and of course, Super Mario Sunshine, the namesake, which is fit to brim with Sunshine Moments, but I'm just gonna name the one my girlfriend specified when I brought this up to her, the Eely-Mouth boss fight.
If you ask me, DMC 3 has quite a few Sunshine Moments, but it's biggest is probably Mission 8, the Leviathan mission, which is ugly as sin due to literally being a whale's guts. This also has another unfortunate effect on the level, that being that everything looks the goddamn same. Oh, and this mission is the first one after you get the flashy new Devil Trigger, so you know, let's make sure you have FUCKING NOTHING to use it on besides some of the weakest enemies in the game and a boss that drains your DT. Oh, and that boss, let's talk about that boss, I'm dying to talk about that boss. The Heart of Leviathan is the second worst boss in the game, only behind another infamous Sunshine Moment in this game, Arkham. It's an annoying slog of a fight, summons adds to artificially lengthen and annoy you, and has not only homing energy balls, but a laser beam that upgrades to a double beam. Not to mention it's central mechanic, the two organs you have to fight that absorb Orbs and Devil Trigger. You have to kill one of them to be able to attack the main Heart itself. As you can guess, this makes the fight a boring repetitive waste of time.
