Just wanna say how SHITTY is it that non-account Twitter peeps are BLOCKED from VIEWING FIRE & POLICE DEPT's threads.

Don't wanna hear anybody telling me to get an account, not gonna happen.

Thinking about the Palisades Fire right now. I know Twitter can do whatever they want.....it's just shitty to block accounts and threads of emergency ppl. During the NorCal fires (like the Tubbs fire, etc.), it truly looked apocalyptic in San Francisco and we were 75 miles away. All the threads were invaluable, private and emergency gov dept's, as I stayed awake watching the progression of the fires so my family near the fires could sleep. But since then, Twitter now blocks you if you'r not an account holder. Ok fine, I get it, so be it. But blocking Fire Depts and Police Depts too when ppl are in the middle of disasters and need truthful info quickly wherever it comes from ....it's just shitty.

EDIT: To all the peeps that wanna tell me to get an account.....already said not gonna happen and you're missing the point. I'm not in the middle of a devastating fire. I don't need Twitter and don't have family or friends in the Palisades Fire area. Twitter was helpful during the 2017 NorCal fires. I'd learn of new fires sparked by embers or the spread of existing fires before the the Fire Dept or Police could post or knew about them. A lot of ppl use Twitter (as well as other sources), ppl searching the web for more info can lead someone to Twitter pages, and when in the middle of an emergency should someone go to their Fire Dept or Police Dept Twitter etc., it's shitty if they can't see it. Same gripe goes for Facebook and anybody else that blocks emergency departments.

EDIT: because of this, it lead me to finding an app called "Watch Duty", a non-profit that actively monitors fires and sends alerts. Definitely worth downloading before the next fire starts if you live in a fire zone, it's pretty cool. I've no affiliation w/ them but happened to be looking for something like this back in 2017.
