For example, people commonly call the rat from Ratatouille “Ratatouille” but his name is actually Remy. And the dish he makes isn’t even technically Ratatouille.

In Nosferatu, same thing. The vampires name is Count Orlok, not Nosferatu. Nosferatu just means Vampire.

Frankenstein is commonly used as the game for the monster, but it’s the doctor who creates the monster whose name is Frankenstein.
