Help me understand Swedish dining culture!!

Hey everyone, I’m totally puzzled. I’m from Iran, and we usually have breakfast between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., dinner between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., and then dinner around 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. For us, breakfast is what you eat after waking up, lunch is something you eat after work or school, and dinner is what you eat before bed. Now, I’m living in Italy, and apart from the breakfasts being a bit smaller and lighter, the rest seems pretty similar. Maybe they eat lunch an hour or so earlier, but that’s about it. Otherwise, the time frames are pretty much the same. I thought this was universal, and everyone would eat like this everywhere (as it is in all of MENA countries too). Then I read about Sweden, and apparently, you guys eat dinner at 5 p.m.! WTF? When I was living with my parents, on Fridays (which are the weekends in Iran), we used to eat lunch at that time!

Can anyone tell me how your dining culture works? I can only assume that most people wake up around 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., so the breakfast hours are similar. That leaves you with a time frame of 10 hours from waking up and eating dinner. For us, it was normally around 15 hours! But the more important question is that if you guys eat dinner at 5 p.m., then how can you not get to hungry until the end of the day? Assuming that most people are going to bed around 11 pm. We ate lunch 2 hours before sleep. I can’t even imagine dining 6 hours before bedtime! So, can anyone explain this strange phenomenon?

Edit: Seems like 5pm is something for families with kids. So the question becomes, do kids go to bed at 7 or something? Cause back at home most kids slept at 11pm to 1am.
