Boys & Girls, I finally did it. 301.6k Overnight! After having a video go semi viral and a bunch of view drop offs, we finally got one! Sharing anything that I thought helped me.

Alright guys so if youre reading and your videos have maybe been dropping in views, there are a couple things ive noticed.

I am a new account myself in the past month so I can definitely say tiktok is still pushing content from new accounts ORGANICALLY. (I too have had the promote feature pushed in my face.)

The video that has now gone viral is stirring up a comment storm with arguments, and this in turn is what I believe keeping the video "controversial" and in the fyp pool, along with shares and saves.

The video did not blow up during the day hours, it was posted yesterday in the afternoon and sat around 300 views till around 9pm at night at which it jumped to 40k. Only as of now has it reached 300k. What Im trying to say is dont be discouraged clearly, because you just wont know when it happens.

CONTENT MATTERS. The post that blew up is very relevant to the past month, and because it is fairly new content, tiktok isnt scattered with hundreds of accounts reposting the same thing, therefore allowing you to slip your way in, that is if your video follows the other rules of "viral videos" (hashtags, good editing, good hook etc...)

No matter what niche you guys are in, FIND NEW CLIPS & CONTENT. I too understand we all need to keep our posting schedule up, and creativity can be a bit hard and tedious, BUT TIKTOK REWARDS IT. I too have used clips that have gone viral on other platforms for the sake of good content, but all my videos that have seem to have gotten at least 30k the clips are more genuine and you can tell havent been thrown all over social media platforms. (Example: Any very popular Andrew Tate video? theres hundreds thrown everywhere)

Retention Rate & Tiktok pushing out your content to the first "pool" of users.

Now this is where things were a bit interesting. After some case studies on my own account, and flipping through hundreds of others I came to a realization.

This new algorithm really does work off pushing your content to about 3 different sized groups and how they react to your content.

I thought that maybe my content is just not getting pushed to very commentative active first pool of people. So I went and followed about 500+ people, and only people that I see would be commenting on videos in my niche on the FYP. The logic behind this was that if I can get my first pool of followers/viewers to be the people that frequently comment, tiktok would in turn push my content out. I did this for about 2 days, following people that frequently comment, and as of yesterday I had one video hit 40k and another 301.6k and theyre still going!

I noticed that if your page is set up well, with good content. Just people seeing that you followed them will be enough for them to check out your page, and then hopefully give you a follow.

I noticed that a lot of the commenters that I followed did in fact go to my page and a good percent ended up commenting on my posts, as well as continue to comment on new ones. I think this helped push through that first pool of fyp users to a more viral one! P.S Im also from Canada and all my "viral" videos consist of 97% United States viewership. (My other ones on the lower side are split between US, Canada & Uk)

If you believe you have good content and good editing don't be discouraged. After having a view drop, I sadly thought maybe my content was just not good enough, despite seeing lower quality posts doing better in the same niche.

This was just not the case and it was really just a matter of time before my posts caught some attention. So don't be discouraged with yourself. Just be REALISTIC & HONEST with yourself. The algorithm changes every week and some times just wont favour you. STAY CONSISTENT!

OTHER NOTABLE THINGS!

I tried to make sure my FYP consisted of only posts that are in my niche.

I found that using 3-6 hashtags is best, with 3 pulling the best results. Both of the 30k-40k videos consist of 4-6 hashtags & my 300k one only has 3.

If you are using only 3 hashtags make sure they all have at least under 1B posts (ideally under 500m). If using more you can add 1 or 2 very general tags.

I would comment on at least 20 posts per day in my niche.

All the videos that have done very well are all around 20-27 seconds. Under 30 seconds seems to be ideal!

Total hours played can balance out a bad percentage of (% of viewers finished video). Some of my popping videos only have about 20-25% finished but the total play time is in a crazy amount of hours.

(example: someone watching 4 seconds of a 8 second video might be 50% watched, but its only 4 seconds watch time. Compared to someone watching 15 seconds of a 43 seconds video. The 43 second video will have way higher total play time. I couldn't tell guys the perfect middle ground to go viral but just thought it would be valuable to know that these can balance each other out.

If any of this seemed to help you in any way please let me know.

Also let me know what has worked for you guys, lets get some sauce spilled in here.

I can also show my account in question if anyone is interested.
