this show is a great way to understand unconscious bias
carolyn (just like her survivor season) is always immediately written off as crazy and stupid, meanwhile is almost always the smartest in the conversation. i'm always fascinated by how much grown adults quickly write people off because they simply don't understand them (or make them uncomfortable). i relate so hard to carolyn, especially how difficult it is to articulate your thoughts when you can sense the people around you are immediately waiting to tell you you're wrong.
i really enjoyed seeing bob tdq articulate to dylan that he is a lot, and dylan may not interact with a lot of people like him, but being the loudest person in the room doesn't make him sketchy, it's just his personality. tony is another example of how his naturally intense personality literally just makes him come off as doing the MOST/being sketchy.....just like how he was in survivor.
granted, this is a game, there's pressure in making decisions in the turret/it's hard to trust someone you don't understand with big decisions and money. i love reality tv because it feels like an entertaining anthropology lesson on how people from different walks of life interact, who naturally falls into leader/follower roles, how they perceive others, etc. i know people are playing into playing characters, but it's still beyond fascinating to watch play out on our screens
