Charlie didn't want to be held to a recording schedule that he was constantly missing due to how busy he was so he decided to leave and everyone is making it out to be a much bigger deal than it ever actually was. Behind the scenes he's literally still running a comic publishing company with Jackson which just launched the second issue of Jacksepticeye's comic series so it's not like he's cut off ties with everyone and gone into exile.
