How are we deciding what kind of avatars we are?

It seems like kind of a strange thing to me. You always see in comment sections things like “I’m an avatar of the vast” or “I’m lonely-aligned” and it doesn’t quite make sense to me? Like, whenever someone says “I’m a Griffindor” it makes sense because Hogwarts houses are cool and everyone would want to be a part of them. But why would you want to be an avatar of anything? Idk, that’s not the important part.

Is there some quiz that everyone is taking to figure it out? Is it just your favorite entity? Is it the one you’re most afraid of? Is it the one you have the most experience with?

Explain it to me, please. I don’t understand it.

Edit: Thanks, everyone, for giving your ideas on this. I can safely say I’m just as confused as I was before, but I’m sure that’s a me problem by now. According to your logic I think I would be considered Corruption-aligned (it’s my favorite entity and the one I’m most afraid of).
