The White Temple is so overrated

Edit: now that I’ve cooled off from the terrible experience, I realize it was 100% the people that ruined the experience for me. Everyone was so rude and had no respect for anything. The temple itself was stunning but I got too worked up because of everything else.

I’m going to leave the post up because there’s varying opinions in the comments that may help someone make a decision in the future about seeing this place.

This place is one of the worst I’ve been to in Thailand. Just a long line of tourists brought in by the bus load to get a picture on the bridge. It felt like Disneyland. And honestly the temple on the inside is nothing special at all. The blue temple was FAR more interesting inside.

You can definitely go see the white temple if you want to brag on instagram, but it’s probably the least whelming temple I’ve seen in all of Thailand.

Not to mention all the waste they produce by giving everyone plastic shoe bags just to talk 30 seconds through the temple and then trash them on the other side. I just held my shoes like a normal human.

Maybe I would have liked it more if I caught it at a less crowded time. But the tourists were pure hell.
