Rodents, wiring, and tape

Turns out rodents love the oil used in car wiring, and when they gnaw through it, we’re left footing a somewhat sizable bill. The Tesla service center fixed my issue within 45 mins, but did not mention anything about how to prevent this from happening again.

Here are some potential fixes I’ve come across:

-Honda capsaicin tape. Expensive. Questionable utility. Going to pass.

-Rodent peppermint oil spray. Cheap. Potentially effective. Worth a shot.

-Gritty / strong tape. I’m thinking about using Gorilla anti-slip tread tape (think top of skateboard grip type material).

My question is, where does one put the tape? Which wires are best to cover? Is there any potential downside / risk in doing so? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
