Tips for teacher retention
Our network is reaching out to teachers this week in a questionnaire to ask what, other than increased staffing and increased compensation, would improve teacher retention. Although I feel like leadership at our network surveys us mostly to create the illusion of agency rather than looking for actionable ideas, I do want to offer some ideas. So far I have written that reducing the amount of PD would do an enormous amount (we get PD'd to death IMO).
What would you say if asked what would increase teacher retention? If not more adults in the building or more money/benefits.
