This Dalinar guy is kind of a dickhead

So mid Words of Radiance we've got a lot of Syl telling Kaladin not to go kill pricks who the world world would be way better without like Elhokar, Sadeas and Amaram. And we've got Dalinar being an absolute dickhead about the whole thing, imprisoning Kaladin for doing the right and honourable thing and calling Amaram out after the big fight. He's all like "ooo, nah I can't do anything sorry suffer in your jocks mate this whole truth and justice thing doesn't really matter to me time for prison". Side note, at this point Syl is all like no you shouldn't kill Elhokar I'm revoking your pally privileges if you do, but Elhokar literally just tried to have Kaladin executed out of jealousy?

Moash might not have been right about much, but he was 100% right about killing Elhokar, Kaladin should have gone fuck following the rules I'm going to do the morally correct thing instead and done it himself. Anyway the narrative pretends the Amaram thing is about not having any proof, but even later on after Amaram admits it directly to Dalinar he never actually tries to do anything about it. He thinks to himself man I probably should do something about this mass murder I have conveniently ignored, but Lord Hypocrite to the very end keeps finding excuses to never actually bother bringing the hammer down on Amaram.

On a reread, it's kind of blood boiling. Get off your high ryshadium about Amaram, Syl. Kaladin is 100% correct Dalinar is never actually going to do anything about it. Absolute dickhead, put Adolin in charge of the decision making he's the only one with some actual mental health. Or Rock. Rock for president.
