Watching S7E14 where a goa'uld is in the Kalownan lady. The goa'uld says "My symbiote will protect me". Anyone else think it's odd since the symbiote is the goa'uld so they are referring to themselves as a separate entity, or is there a perspective I'm missing?

Curious if it's a thing that Goa'uld think of the symbiote as a separate entity while taken over a host.
