My friend is taking this game too seriously I need help on what to do

Recently I started playing stardew valley with 2 of my other friends. We are having a blast. But when we found out we can have relationships we both decided to try to get a girlfriend. I went for a girl named “Haley” and he went for one named “Abigail”. In my opinion he’s acting like a child. Basically one of the main reasons I went for this girl is because I think she is hot. But according to my friend, that’s the only reason and he says I should find someone I truly like and apparently according to him I don’t like Haley at all. I do like her dialogue, but according to him I don’t care at all about her. He is taking it too far because when we were at school, (we have every class together I hate it) he is arguing with me every class. It is getting so irritating because he wants to “change me” and he is really annoying about it. He thinks that since I’m only dating for looks (which is not true) when I start dating someone in real life, I will only date for looks and not personality (also not true). He also is trying to convince everyone else in my friend group that I am the one in the wrong. But I think it doesn’t matter because it’s a 2d game and I’m just trying to enjoy it but he is preventing me from doing so. I just don’t know what to do, should I pretend to listen and secretly date her or do I just ignore him and he will just continue to argue (he isn’t stopping at all and is being excessively annoying about it). He is being too serious about this Also to add on, he thinks I’m copying him by trying to get a girlfriend
