WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THE RIDICULOUS DISADVANTAGE OF SONIC 3?!
I just can't stop thinking about how unfair Sonic 3's disadvantage is when compared to the previous 2 films.
Everybody was talking about how "Sonic 3 had fewer theaters than Mufasa," which was true.
But you know what? Screw that!
What actually bothers me is the fact that Sonic 3 had far fewer theaters than Sonic 2.
Just take a look:
As you can see, Sonic 3 was released in just 3,769 theaters when compared to the 4,258 theaters of Sonic 2.
That's a difference of 489 theaters!
But, not only that...
Even the first Sonic movie had far more theaters than Sonic 3. What the hell is this?
Sonic 3 was more expensive to make than the previous films. So, why is it that it was shown in less theaters than both of its predecessors?
I mean, it's very obvious that Sonic 3 would have grossed considerably more (and faster) if it had more theaters.
In fact, Sonic 3 managed to surpass Sonic 2 at the domestic box office pretty quickly, even though it had fewer theaters.
