Soo, why did they remove the Sonic tan fur that resemble the connected eyes but added It to Knuckles

I mean it's not that i don't like It, but It doesn't make any sense to me since Sonic has connected eyes in the games and Knuckles has them separated, but this Is the opposite and i find It weird since in Sonic Movie 2 Knuckles didn't had this feature.
