Do III and IV always play their instruments live all the time during shows?

Hey everyone!

Let me first emphasize that I have nothing against the boys. I absolutely adore them and their incredible music. I’m just genuinely curious about how their live performances are structured.

I’ve been diving more into live footage of Sleep Token concerts, both old and new, and I noticed something. It seems like sometimes III and IV, especially III, aren’t actively playing their instruments during certain parts of the show. For example, there are moments when III is just moving or dancing, yet you can still hear the bass clearly. (backtrack)

I watched the live performances of aqua reiga because i know there is this huge bass line in the song and I could still see III kinda not playing (?)

Could this be part of the show’s overall vibe or a technical aspect, like backing tracks being used for certain sections?
