An observation of Kody and Meri

Hey guys! After rewatching the entire show and seeing the recent clip of Kody and Meri I’ve realized something that I’ve noticed no one is pointing out. I do try to be nuanced so let me know if you agree or disagree!

After Meri requested a split from Kody to the church, they allowed it on grounds of abandonment by Kody, he seemed to have such a hard time accepting that. Although anyone with eyes could say that’s exactly what he did. He withheld any kind of affection from Meri and looked at her like a family friend and It’s in my opinion that he never moved on from the catfish situation. Although their relationship had tension beforehand, Kody seemed to be someone who has a strong sense of self pride. Meri, his wife was recorded on video saying all kinds of things about him I have no doubt that it upset him. I believe the family came together to protect Meri and save face but I think that it was the final nail for Kody. Kody has mentioned how he’s not allowed to leave the wives but he does abandon them in every sense on the intimacy level. He did it to Meri and then Christine but the only difference is that Christine left. Meri stayed for years, holding onto something Kody himself knew he would not do for her, especially because his pride was too deeply wounded.

I’m no expert though! This is just something that has stuck out to me because I know in a monogamous relationship the person whose been cheated on will either leave or stay because they’re comfortable but most of the time the relationship does not remain the same. Kody had 3 other wives that he could pay attention to so I guess in his eyes it was easy to pay Meri no mind.
