Physical tokens - I like old school banking
DBS customer here. I wasn't too keen on the old system of inserting a card in a device to get an OTP but I also don't like the newest one of getting an OTP sent to one's smartphone. For me the sweets spot is the digital token where you get a six-digit code by satellite or whatever.
So, imagine my surprise when paying for a visa (India) they, presumably the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India rather than the bank, insisted on sending the OTP to my phone. That wouldn't work because I am travelling and I get new SIMs wherever I am for a few weeks or months. Sure, you can update your phone on the app but too much bank account maintenance.
Anyone else out there sticking with physical tokens?
