Does your father call you beautiful? Does it matter if they do or don't comment on their daughter's appearance?
My dad has never called me beautiful.
It's something I never really thought about growing up and only just recently realized after noticing how other dads interact with their daughters.
He rarely ever commented on my looks, other than making fun of me sometimes or telling me to wear better clothes when we'd go out (as a kid, I remember feeling embarrassed about that for some reason). Mostly though, I don't ever remember my dad commenting on my looks.
Thinking back, it does sort of hurt, and I feel a bit stupid for that. I've always assumed I was just an ugly woman because men always ignored me or overlooked me, and I felt similarly with my dad since I was little.
Did/does your dad call you beautiful?
Or any dads with daughters on here, do you make it a point to call them beautiful?
Do you think it's important? Or should a father have more of a neutral stance on their daughter's appearance?
