[SSK003K1] Question about bracelet sizing

Greetings!

Today I purchased my first Seiko watch and it is looking stunning.

I have a couple of questions about the bracelet sizing and maybe some of you could help me out. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and I am in need of removing some links but I do not have a link removal tool. Will I damage the pins if I use a paper pin and a hammer to remove them?

Also, how many links apporximatelly do I need to remove for the front and back so the watch sits on the wrist in the center?
