What grass seemed greener and actually was?

Where did you move from and where did you move to for a new chapter that was actually better than where you were before?

I’ve lived in Texas my whole life originally in North Dallas and now Austin. I’ve traveled to 30 different countries and 17 out of 50 states. There a few things I love about Texas like the cost of living, HEB, mild winter, and lot of outdoor activities. Then quite a long list of things I hate like summer being over 100 for 5+ months, the politics, and how far apart everything is here. My husband has lived in Austin for his whole life and we own a house here since 2021. We want to make the jump of living somewhere else! So reddit and Texas Ex’s where have you moved to that was actually greener?

Edit: We have a combined income of 130k with 1 child. He works as an Executive Chef and I work in Technology. New home budget (best guess) would be in the 500k-600k area?
