How bad of an idea is moving to FL?

My parents are moving to FL from AZ to be closer to family. Me and my fiancé moved back to NH from AZ this summer. We moved back to NH because summers were oppressive and as a teacher AZ was not the place to be.

I landed the top district in the state and was quite disappointed to find all the same issues in NH as the ones I left in AZ. My classes are even the same size. Crazy!! Cost of living is so high here that I'm not making anymore money either than when I left AZ. There's no way we can buy a house anywhere nearby. Overall it's been disheartening and I miss being close to family!

My parents are moving to Bradenton/Palmetto area. I've been tons visiting family but haven't lived in FL since I was a baby. Does anyone have an opinion of living in these areas maybe with the perspective of someone who's lived elsewhere? AZ was a hot mess but at least I could make friends and there were things to do. My coworkers in NH don't care to even learn my name (classic NH), we haven't made any friends and there isn't anything to do beyond the outdoors here. I'd love to hear some opinions!
