How I got 150 users and 15 paying customers in month 1 – Thanks to Reddit 🚀

I wanted to share my experience launching Subreddit Signals and how I managed to get 150+ users and 15 paying customers in the first month. Reddit has been a huge part of this, and I really appreciate the support and feedback I’ve received from the community here.

What is Subreddit Signals?

It’s a tool that helps SaaS founders find the right subreddits to engage with, monitor relevant posts, and craft comments that actually add value instead of sounding promotional. The goal is to drive organic leads while staying authentic.

What worked for me

  1. Finding the right communities I focused on subreddits like r/SaaS, r/Entrepreneur, r/micro_saas, r/sideproject, and other niche communities where my target users hang out. Being intentional about where I engaged made a big difference.

  2. Authentic engagement Instead of posting just to promote, I tried to participate in conversations, share advice, and answer questions. When it made sense, I mentioned Subreddit Signals naturally and leveraged the tool to promote the tool. Having it listen for places where people were looking for my tool or somthing similar save me a lot of time.

  3. Getting feedback I shared the product early and asked for honest feedback. Some of the suggestions were tough to hear but incredibly helpful. This allowed me to make quick improvements that users actually wanted.

  4. Writing long-tail SEO blogs - months before launch Alongside Reddit, I wrote some long-tail SEO blog posts to capture specific searches. This started bringing in consistent, targeted traffic over time. That's has been growing.

Reddit has been a huge help for early traction. The community here is willing to support you if you’re genuine and provide value. Quality engagement and listening to feedback have been the most important factors in getting early adopters.
