On SDSU's Mandatory Attendance Policy
As a tranfer student from Mesa, do you guys think the mandatory attendence agenda clearly pushed at SDSD is helpful or a hinderence.
In every class, I see that more than half the students are just texting, shopping online, playing Snake IO, watching vids etc and totally zoned out. They clearly do not want to be there.
I feel bad even asking questions, because the majority of students clearly want the class to be over as fast as possible, so delaying the class by any amount feels rude.
What I'm saying is, if attendence was not required then students would show up only if they actually want to hear the lecture/be there. They would also be well rested etc. Finally, it would cut way down on the traffic and crowds which are an obvious issue on this sub (parking, scooters, skateboard, etc.)
Do you guys agree, or am I just thinking too much into this?
