3D-printed double barrel anyone? 😂
That, my friends, is a 3D-printed 48mm double barrel shock. lol
I don’t know why, but I wanted to see if I could 3D print a shock. So I disassembled one to see how each part worked and took a shot at it. My first attempt was way better than I expected. Each part fits together exactly like a real one, it is even adjustable via the adjuster ring, and the ends are threaded.
I gotta tighten up the tolerances but that’s crazy cool and ridiculous at the same time! 🙂🙃 just made from PLA. I also modeled a rear truss and servo mount while I was at it.
I think I’m going to build two 6x6’s, one from normal parts/upgrades, and the other one will be a combination because I obviously can’t print everything. But I want to build it from as many 3d-printed parts as I can model/print. Then I’m going to do a final cost comparison and performance run. That would be pretty cool. At least to me it would. What science I could obtain! lol 🧬🔬⚗️ so far I’m at less than $1 for all the printed stuff.
The parts I’ve been able to model and print (so far):
Full set of rails (rails/trays/support bars) Reversible skid Full set of suspension links for 6x6 Rear trusses Servo mount One complete double barrel shock, spring included…(not counting the pivot balls and O-rings) 😂
I think I have an idea of the next part I will try to model and print.
