She's proven right: books where the FMC is proven right in some way, and the MMC has to atone for denying/failing her.
Ok, this request might have too much in it. But better too much then too little? I've never made a request so pls bear with me <3
Maybe I'm requesting this because I'm a Taurus ♉ and we love being proven right. But I realized that two of my favorite books ({The Tyrant Alpha's Rejected Mate by Cate C. Wells} and {The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata}) had a kind of trope? Micro-trope? Micro-tropes? That I really enjoyed. I even liked it in a book I didn't love ({The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren}). I basically want a book where the FMC is proven right in some way, and the MMC has to atone for not believing her. But I'd like to request that it plays out in a specific way (I have examples from the named books to show what I'm looking for below, because I'm also a Capricorn moon).
I'm asking for preferably M/F, no RH/Why Choose/Poly romances; one man making me mad is enough. I'm fine with any time period. Would rather not read about older teens/new adults, I'd love for them to be late 20's, early 30's. I prefer human looking characters, so monster/alien is ok if they look mostly human. Asking for no creative anatomy tho, If I have to read about three spiked spears coming out during the steamy moments I'm gonna cry. Also I've been to enough kink raves/taken enough kink-positive classes to accept that BDSM does nothing for me. Finally, no dark romances please, I get enough darkness reading the daily world news😭
So {with examples), I'm looking for a book where:
- The FMC says something true/important to the MMC
- The Tyrant Alpha's Rejected Mate:The FMC says the MMC is her mate
- The Wall of Winnipeg and Me:The FMC gets mad at the MMC because he skipped out on meeting her family, and she wanted his support
- The Unhoneymooners:The FMC tells the MMC his brother is a cheater
- MMC denies it/doesn't believe it/doesn't take it seriously
- The Tyrant Alpha's Rejected Mate:He denies she's his mate in front of the entire pack and she's thrown out by the trash
- The Wall of Winnipeg and Me:He snickers and tells her "It wasn't a big deal"
- The Unhoneymooners:He tells her she's lying and I think he also tells her she's jealous?
- MMC realizes he's wrong and the FMC is proven right
- The Tyrant Alpha's Rejected Mate:His wolf is in her thrall and calls her wolf his mate. He then talks to the local witch which gives him the final confirmation
- The Wall of Winnipeg and Me:After they fight, they make up. She moves to shake his hand, and her shirt sleeve rides up, exposing bruises she got from her sister's husband. He sees her bruises and realizes him skipping WAS a big deal, because he left her to deal with her abusive family on her own (Idk why but I LOVED this part).
- The Unhoneymooners:The FMC and her sister (who's the wife of the MMC's brother) make up, and invite over the girls the MMC's brother is cheating with. The MMC is also invited over. He watches it go down and realizes (also ate this part UP).
- FMC moves on from it
- The Tyrant Alpha's Rejected Mate:The FMC gets the mate bond "plucked out", so she doesn't have to suffer from the rejection. She tries to ignore the MMC and go back to their normal relationship, while he slowly realizes she's his mate, and she's actually! perfect for him. I really wanted more from this part, I liked how the FMC was moving, but the aloofness was over way too fast.
- The Wall of Winnipeg and Me:The FMC forgives him and continues to expect nothing from him.
- The Unhoneymooners:The FMC ignores the MMC's messages and focuses on her sister and herself.
- While MMC continues to feel bad
- The Tyrant Alpha's Rejected Mate:The MMC feels awful when he's reminded of how he wasn't there during her first heat. His wolf gets mad at him when they pass the bush where she laid alone in her heat. He feels remorseful and apologizes when the FMC says heats hurt, because her heat only hurt since he wasn't there
- The Wall of Winnipeg and Me:The FMC thanks him for every small thing he does. He feels shitty about it, because she expects so little from him as he hasn't really shown up for her in the past
- The Unhoneymooners:He keeps texting her
- The MMC atones through action:
- The Tyrant Alpha's Rejected Mate:The MMC starts simping HARD. He's not perfect, and makes BIG mistakes. But for the rest of the book, he tries to show her (and the rest of the pack!) that she's the one for him, and that she's the alpha in the relationship, not him. He embarrassed her in public, so he atones publicly; he shows his neck to her in front of his fighters and lets her make rules and decisions for the pack (which are all good decisions that make the pack less patriarchial). He shows her lots of PDA as well, and even begs her not to leave him during a literal coup.
- The Wall of Winnipeg and Me:The MMC spends the rest of the book showing up for the FMC. He goes to her brother's game, spends as much time with her as he can and surprises her at a romance book (hey, that's us!) conference and at her marathon. Also for Christmas he gives her a super expensive tablet for he design work, a gorgeous engagement ring, and a bunch of cute lights (she has a fear of the dark) based off the ever-changing colors of her hair.
- The Unhoneymooners: The MMC apologizes by showing up at her work and giving a speech (I think?) in front of her family. I didn't love it tbh.
Thanks in advance y'all!
