Can somebody please dumb down this whole new agent commission thing for me?
Selling our home in April and I’m still a bit confused about this new real estate agent commission thing. I’ve sold and purchased a home before, but to my knowledge commission wasn’t as widely accepted as being negotiable until the changes occurred last year. I just want to make sure I’m not being screwed over in the process.
So, as a seller, am I paying the entire 6% of realtor fees to go to my agent and the buyer’s agent or is this negotiable with the realtor? I’m sorry if this has been posted several times already on here, but I can’t seem to find an explanation that dumbs it down enough for me to fully understand. Thanks!
