Other players can’t hear me in voice chat

I play on PS4, and I can’t hear other players through my headset, and it doesn’t even seem to register that I am speaking, as no sound icon appears and nobody can hear me. I joined a PS4 party with some of my friends and they could hear me fine, so my mic is not broken, but it just won’t work with in-game chat no matter what i do. Does anyone have any fixes? I’m so frustrated because i feel like ive tried everything
