Gamma Surveillance Questions
Hey there, r/radiation folks-
I work in industrial hygiene and I have been presented with an opportunity to conduct a radiological survey of a ship being decommissioned. I don't have any experience with this exact type of work and I want to make sure I am giving my client the data they need.
So the RFQ reads like this: "Contractor shall provide a radiological survey using a survey meter with a gamma detector that reads out in count-rate (with calibration with a response to correlate exposure rate) and a survey meter that reads out directly in exposure rate."
What I am trying to do is figure out what equipment would best meet these criteria. Currently my equipment contact has recommended a Ludlum 3 or Ludlum 2241 with either a 44-9 probe or 44-2 probe. (Neither of us have much experience with this tech, so we may be totally wrong).
How would y'all approach this?
