A little help with evoking hope by rolling

Greetings,

I've been working a while on concepts for a handful of settings based on the hopepunk genre and I've finally decided to create an RPG to tie them all together. I'm working on a rules-medium project (more on the narrative side, such as with FATE and the roleplay on the Fragged series) and I was looking into the core resolution mechanic. I have two things clear: I want dice pools (they feel right to me) and I'd like to reinforce the theme of the game, this is, I want to inspire hope to the players, as the world around them is bleak and holds them back

What I thought of originally was using d10s: 8 or 9 is a success, 10 is two successes. Roll as many dice as your Attribute value and compare to required successes. If it's an ability, you can level up your lowest die to the next level (1-4 to 5-7 to 8-9 to 10) a number of times equal to your ability level. So, it looked like this:

Roll Attribute d10 -> Level Up According to Hability -> Count successes

And, while I personally like this (although I've been struggling to get Attributes and Habilities out), it doesn't inspire much hope. Which leads me to the second part.

From what I've seen, aside from the fact that there's an inherent feeling of hope when rolling dice as to getting there (we've all had complicated rolls that had to go well), there's not much progress made in this sense. I thought of hiding dice to make the players feel a bit more insecure, but hide them too much and it becomes full RNG or encourages bluffing, neither of which I like.

One example I do like is from the game Hanabi. Players have to order cards that represent fireworks by color and number. The thing is you're the only player who doesn't see your own hand. By giving clues to the others, everyone has to figure out what cards they're holding. While this is a cool example of hoping to get to the maximum scoring, I'm not sure

So what I'm really asking of you are your thoughts on the matter: what are good ways to evoke hope in games and how would that relate to a core resolution mechanic in a TTRPG.

Sry for the long read and thanks a lot in advance.
