Has anyone been following Polywork and their product pivot?

For anyone not in the know, Polywork started as an alternative to Linkedin (at least that's how I saw it) but with a more creative creative profiles and going beyond work.

I have signed up some time ago but wasn't using it, but I was very excited to see that there is a decent challenger to the now atrocious Linkedin (check r/LinkedInLunatics). They had good funding, so there was a chance it might succeed.

Fast forward to me opening an email from them today and seeing that they've pivoted and are now just another website builder... and that's a real bummer imho.

Anyone here who's used it actively and/or followed their journey? Thoughts on this change?

I'm assuming the switch is a consequence of having to deliver on that VC capital infused and maybe they got too much funding too quickly, which created pressure.
