TIME’S THIEF

TIME'S THIEF I knew it was too good, a fleeting dream,

That you, at last, would make my life's sunbeam.

That you could truly like me, heart and soul,

And make my scattered pieces finally whole.

But getting old, the hardest truth I face,

Knowing life's sweet nectar, I've yet to taste.

The adventures missed, the roads I didn't take,

A heart unfulfilled, for goodness sake.

The fear it lingers, a constant, chilling breeze,

That time will steal what I long to seize.

A life unlived, a song unsung, unheard,

A silent echo, of each unspoken word.
