Do you share towels with your dog?

Hello guys! I’m a predicament with my husband. He says most of people don’t mind sharing towels or personal items with their dogs as long as they wash them in between. I believe that the most hygienic thing to do is to have a separate towel for people and for pets. Anyway, the question is: do you usually share your towels with your dogs? And if not, would you feel comfortable doing it?

Edit: my husband says I didn’t ask the correct question: would you ever use a towel that has previously been used on a dog?

So for context, we went to visit his friend and he let us borrow a towel. I made a mistake and used it on our dog. I think we should replace the towel and he doesn’t think that’s necessary. I think that’s rude.
