How long did you guys spent on editing voiceovers? And what are some lessons or advice that you learnt that helped you?
Hi, I’m just curious about your Voiceover process including editing, particularly for those who runs a faceless channel. I find myself spending way too much on these and just wondered if it’s even normal.
To start, I tend to record about 3-4 takes for each paragraphs, and during editing election I spent an exuberant amount of time selecting and cutting and combining bits and pieces to form the whole segment. This takes about 3-4 days usually. Then at the very end after the video is fully edited with visuals, I’d go in again and manually clean up the VO in Izotope, which takes another 2 -3 days.
I find it odd to spend about a week just on VO for a 20-30 min video. Sometimes I felt like my OCD is driving me nuts trying to select the better pronunciation and fixing pacing between words one by one. This felt like the worst part of the video creation process for me, so I’m curious the process from a professional.
Feel free to post any advice below, I’m sure it will help others too.
