building up my house

I finally managed to upgrade today to the Grand Harvest House!! But, I thought I might’ve been able to connect my existing Harvest House as a room somehow and obviously can’t - what have other people done with theirs? I feel bad leaving it in storage as it seems such a waste, but can’t think of what to use it for! Any ideas?
