Anyone else thinking they need a new TV after getting the PS5 Pro?
I'm loving my PS5 Pro so far but realizing that my TV is holding me back. I have a Vizio P75 which was great in 2016 but is not so good now that I'm focusing more on what's possible with the tech. Of course it is humming along just fine so going to be hard to convince my wife it is a good idea... (my current theory is to explain that prices could go way up with tariffs so best to buy now). The TV does not have VRR, 120hz, and the HDR input lag is abysmal so I've stopped using HDR (the gaming HDMI input does not support it and is the only way to get sub 20ms response time). Note that I am aware that this was also the case with the PS5, I just was not paying attention as tech improved and some of these features were added to the PS5 over time. I suspect it also is why I had not noticed the difference between performance and quality modes so much - it is more evident now that I gave up HDR and switched back to the gaming input.
Anyway, anyone else in this boat? What are you guys thinking about getting? Right now my thought is to get the 83" LG C4 as it reviews well and the prices have come down quite a bit. I like what I see with the Samsung S90D as well but the 83" size apparently does not use the QD-OLDED so the advantages go away I think. The reviewers pan the brightness of the C4's game mode's HDR but users seem to like it. Does anyone here have the C4 and first hand thoughts?
This new toy is getting much more expensive... Too bad I can't trade my Vizio in to GameStop towards a new TV like I did with my PS5 :)
