Coming in years late, is this game still great

Never actually got around to playing Overwatch. In the past I had very little time to play video games and only in the last few years started playing more. By then I focused on other games and never gave Overwatch a try. I’ve read a lot of comments, some good some bad. I want the player’s opinions, is it welcoming to newbs and not pay to win?
